GCS Agile’s Gerry Carcour (CEO), Stuart Growse (CDO), and Rob Aldridge (Practice Lead) spoke at the Monash Faculty of Information Technology’s Industry Night for Data Science. The team spoke to the 100 students and faculty in attendance from the Master’s of Data Science course about GCS Agile and how we are building differentiated Big Data solutions in coordination with our market leading Big Data technology partners. In particular, Rob Aldridge delivered a demonstration of the BigML platform which showcased the power and importance of machine learning in delivering market differentiated solutions, highlighting some the new features of the product that were recently released. Stuart Growse followed by discussing the current state of the Big Data Analytics industry, the future opportunities that will exist for the students in the job market, and the essential skills required for a successful career in Data Science. The enthusiasm in the room was very high with the Q&A session lasting around 30 minutes.

GCS Agile is pleased to further solidify our relationship with the educational sector in Australia, in particular with Monash University, as it is a key part of the orchestration of Big Data in the digitally disrupted world. We would like to extend a special thanks to Monash University’s Wray Buntine (Professor of IT) for including us in the special event.
