KUALA LUMPUR, 15th JANUARY, 2016 – Malaysian advanced medical informatics company iGene Sdn. Bhd. today signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with GSC Agile Australia to establish a network of Digital Autopsy Facilities in Australia. This partnership will lead to a Joint Venture Collaboration to extend Digital Autopsy to further revolutionary capabilities including forensic, medico-legal and educational solutions for the benefit of society. This is the next stage of iGene’s Go Global Strategy following the launch of United Kingdom network of facilities. The signing ceremony was witnessed by YBhg Dato' Susila Devi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.

UK venture has created a huge interest across the world that lead to the signing of Memorandum of Collaboration with GCS Agile for Australia. This relationship will also explore a possible partnership for New Zealand.

The collaboration aims to serve the current Coronial cases with aim to increase operational efficiency and set a new standard of performance in the provision of Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) and post mortem services, totalling approximately 15,500 cases per year. Ultimately this will extend to cover the digitisation of all deaths in Australia, currently about 150,000 annually, providing an invaluable national medical record for the purposes of preventative health and education, driving the Australian Government innovation agenda including job creation.

Digital Autopsy involves a three-dimensional scan of the body using a CT scanner, before iGene’s revolutionary visualisation software enables the pathologist to conduct a full, non-invasive digital post mortem, with the results being available shortly after.
